"Who Moved My Cheese?"

There is a great little book by Spencer Johnson called, "Who Moved My Cheese?" It is about little mice in a maze whose cheese in their corner is either old or eaten up. So the mice must make the decision to stay and wait for more cheese that probably won't arrive, or leave that place in search of more cheese. Unfortunately, the place the cheese vacated is their comfort zone - a hard place to leave.

Most of us have had the experience of having an opportunity dry up and needing to find a new place to work or live or serve. There are certain basic truths concerning the need to move and change your current status -- whatever that may be:

The more important your cheese is to you, the longer you will want to hold on to it, the harder it will be for you to let it go, and the more it hurts for you to separate yourself from your cheese.
Smell the cheese often so you will know when it is getting old.
The quicker you let go of old cheese, the sooner you find new cheese.

If you do not change, you may become extinct.
What would you do if you were not afraid?
When you move beyond your fear, you feel free.
Movement in a new direction helps you find new cheese.
It is safer to search in the maze than to remain in a cheeseless situation.
Following old tried and failed techniques do not work. Sometimes you need a new plan of action.
Imagining myself enjoying new cheese even before I find it, leads me to it.
When you see you can find and enjoy new cheese, you change course.

Noticing small changes early helps you adapt to the bigger changes that are to come.
Hope you find your cheese when the time comes. Goodnight!
